A Message From The Head
Blwyddyn Newydd Dda i chi gyd. Happy New Year to you all; I do hope you enjoyed a relaxing holiday.
As the school settles down into the new term, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new headteacher of Coedcae School. The transition to my new post has been a very easy one, given the warm welcome and exceptional support I have been shown by all members of the school community. I am indeed very fortunate to now be headteacher of this wonderful school.
One of my main priorities over the next two terms (and beyond) is to ensure that all pupils achieve in line with, if not better than, their potential. As such, every single pupil will be supported and challenged to give of his/her best at all times, to work with us positively and to make the best progress possible. Second best will never be good enough for our pupils.
At the moment, our year 11 pupils are working towards their mock examinations; these begin on Monday 23 January, the full timetable for which you will find on this website. It is absolutely critical that all pupils undertake thorough revision in order to prepare well for the impending examinations. The results of the mock examinations will subsequently be used to identify those areas where support is needed by pupils in order that they may achieve highly in the final examinations in the summer.
During the period of the mock examinations, maximum attendance is essential; the normal timetable for year 11 will be continuing during this time and pupils are required to be in lessons when they are not sitting an examination. This is to ensure that no learning time is lost unnecessarily. It is our firm intention that all pupils will achieve the best possible outcomes in the public examinations this summer in order that they may be in a strong position to reach their chosen destinations when they leave us.
