History
Coedcae School came into being as a result of the re-organisation of secondary education in Carmarthenshire during the late 1970s.
In September 1977, the new school included pupils of the Girls’ Grammar School , Stebonheath Boys’ Secondary School, Stebonheath Girls’ Secondary School as well as the first year of its comprehensive intake.
By 1983, the School had developed into a comprehensive school for young people aged 11 – 18 years of age.
In September 1994, the rationalisation of sixth form education in Llanelli resulted in Coedcae adopting its present form as a community school for young people aged 11 – 16 years of age.
